Game not working with 64bit card, and repair not working either

After the recent update, my game won't start and says that I need to update my video card.  I have a 64 bit card, so it was suggested that I try to repair the game, but the games repairs up to about half way and then stops.  I can pause the repair, and when I unpause it starts back at the beginning and then gets half way and stops again.  I don't have the option to cancel the repair, and I'm not sure what else I need to do.  I'm not very computer savvy, so please explain like you're talking to a 6 year old...
