Family disappeared in Sims 4

I wonder why a family that I have created will disappear when I create a new family? I cant find the old ones anywhere, so it seems like I can only have one family at a time? I have tried to reinstall the game but the problem remains. Please help!

When you create a new game everything is reset. Use load game to load the other savegame.
