Re: [FAQ] Unable to connect with origin

It appears that my Origin and EA/Sims account are not connected (despite it registering my Sims 3 and Supernatural pack), but it doesn't allow me to "edit" or connect the two. How would I do this? :/

Hero

Did you use the same email address ?

This is how it looks for me. Ican't get pictures in english but one means connected accounts (empty) the other game specific identitties

My accounts are connected.

Re: [FAQ] Unable to connect with origin

I've uninstalled my origin and reinstalled it (with all updates) same with my sims games (the base and pets). I'm still having the "Unable to Connect to Origin" error AND the "Not Responding" issue when I try to launch the game. I'm pretty sure they're connected becaue I have used the SAME email AND password for both. I can log into them both individually but for some reason I am still getting the error. I don't know how to change my email address or else I would try that but the EA people have made it so you can't just do that, you have to contact them. If they don't fix this problem soon I will call them to figure something out.

I would like to check and see if it's my firewall or anti-virus that is interfering with my connection, because my real problem is that I'm not able to download my purchases from the Sims3 store, but if it's as you say not necessary to have the EA downloading manager, then what gives? I've been having this problem now for over two months and have been unsuccessful in having it fixed. As far as my firewall, etc. is concerned--what am I looking for? I have Norton 360. Thanks to anyone who will help me.

I believe my issue is worse than those mentioned....I can't play the game at ALL..... I'd been having this "unable to connect to origin" for months now but was able to play the game so it never bothered me..... Then I pre-ordered island paradise for download and when it came out and installed through origin, I could not play and haven't played since.

My launcher keeps saying "unable to connect to origin" and "unable to connect to EA Download manager" so my game won't update either.... I used the super patch which the launcher seems to recognise but it still won't launch leading me to believe that the patch isn't properly installed.... My downloads won't install into the game through the launcher and when I press the play button the launcher disappears and nothing happens.

I've gone through all troubleshooting methods, having spoken to the online support chat thingy 6 times in the past week and even COMPLETELY wiped my laptop installing everything from scratch and keeping firewall off....only to be faced with the same issue

Apparently my case is now being given to a specialist team at EA, whatever that means......but I am truly annoyed and bored with this. Dumb origin.

Exact same problem here! I bought Generations and I cannot connect and when I hit play it shuts its self out. Everything is up to date, no virus protection turned on, as well as all exceptions made. I've uninstalled and reinstalled a dozen times! And every time I get on the support chat the morns try to tell me to patch it again! I can't get anything done!

Open origin, and right click repair your games in the order of release. It updates/fixes your games at the same time and doing it in the proper order seemed to fix my issue. Hopefully it will fix yours too.

It still is not working for me...

I just downloaded Origin as well as the Sims 3 and the Sims 3 University Life. I can't install University Life because apparently the Sims 3 is not up to date (even though it tells me it is)??

and every time I try to open the Sims 3 it gives me that error: unable to connect with origin.

my firewall/antivirus is not the problem as far as I can tell.

Origin/The Sims 3 shouldn't be out of date, because I only just downloaded them today! and I double checked; I have both programs on my computer.

I haven't changed my email address.

Though I used the same exact email for both accounts (my origin account and my sims account), they are 'not connected'. ?? that might be the problem but that seems so small. Anyhow, I can't figure out or find out how to connect the origin account with the sims account. as i said, I used the same email for both accounts, and I verified the email.

I'm just really frustrated bc I spent money on it and I can't even play at all :/
