Re: [FAQ] Troubleshooting Steps

★★★ Newbie

I went to documents/electronicarts but there was no sims 3 folder just the CAW Tool. and when I try to bypass the launcher it says: "Unable to start game   Service initializalation failed (0x024e424f)"  I have a Windows 7 Toshiba, and I only own TS3 Base Game. It USED to run well, but one day it just stopped. I DID get mods an CC, but it ran fine with all of them. HELP? (I'm positive its the computer, because I've recently installed TS3 on my aunt's computer, and it ran great.)

Did you follow the steps here : http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/FAQ-Service-initialization-failed/td-p/65394 ?

You might need to reinstall, clearing out the registery.

If that does not help, could you make your own thread ?

I don't have TS3W.exe, only TS3.exe and when I'm running it it shows me Runtime Error R6016

I tried this but it did not work. My laucher is completely frozen and the only way to get rid of it is by restarting my computer. I do use CC and I have world adventures, pets, late night, ambitions, university, seasons, and showtime for my EPs. I'm using a PC
