Extreme lag?

So, I've noticed that ever since the toddler update, it takes my sims longer to do tasks. Like, for example, my people talking. It literally takes 3 minutes (3 hours their time) to say hello to each other. Same with every other simple task that should be automatic. What should I do?

there's a lot of reasons for lags.

Also are you using custom content or mods ? Which packs do you own ? Are your Sims living in a large or smaller house ? How big is your save game ?

Never mind. I got it to work. But I do have another issue: I went to go play a few seconds ago and it won't let me. It was in the middle of a repair, but it won't let me cancel or resume the repair, so I can't play. What should I do?

Does it still move forward at all ? If not, I would kill the Origin process and try again.
