I just bought the Generations expansion pack a few minutes ago through The Sims 3 website. When i went to download it from Origin, I got an error message telling me I need to uninstall my base game and install it through Origin in order to play my new purchase. However, the Sims 3 base game is already listed in the 'My Games' section of origin and uninstalling any game will mean erasing the town i've been playing in for months,what can i do?
P.S: My base game and all other expansion packs I have are tangible discs.

For this you will need to contact Origin/EA support they will gladly help you whit this problem https://help.ea.com/en/origin go here press contact as give information press I still need help at the bottom of the page and then press start live chat and you will get a live chat whit an EA agent that will be glad to help you

Was this resolved? I'm having the same issue. I chose to uninstall but now I'm reinstalling my games... and the patch is taking forever.
