Everytime I press play it loads but gives me an error

So I bought a key from kinguin earlier today. (It did work, installed on my PC now.) and installed it, but everytime I try to play it it gives me this error:

"Unable to start:

Cannot start because required game data is missing or damaged. Try reinstalling the game.

[(Bunch of numbers)]"

I reinstalled but that didn't work. Don't plan on reinstalling this game again, seeing as I lost 18 GBs of internet today.

I looked and it looks like some other people are having this trouble but if anyone knows how to fix it, please let me know. (I tried the -w thing already)
