Good afternoon,

I buy Sims 4 on physical CD and put it to install, when installing Origin, after updating,  it gave the following error. I have Windows 10 and I don't know what I can do to be able to play. Thanks

Re: Error updating the Origin

@Fyfy96  That file is part of the 2015 VC++ runtimes, which Origin needs to install properly.  It's best to uninstall your current copies, if you have any, and then download new ones from Microsoft.  Hit Windows key-i, select Apps, scroll down to Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable, click on both the x86 and x64 entries (if you have them), and select Uninstall.  You can download new copies here. Be sure to install both the x86 and x64 versions.

Restart your computer, and try to install Origin again.

Re: Error updating the Origin

@Fyfy96  The issue is likely that the version of Origin on your Sims 4 disc is so outdated, it can't even update itself properly.  The solution is to do a clean uninstall of Origin, and reinstall the latest version.  Please use these guides to clearing Origin's cache and uninstalling it "the hard way" to remove all Origin-related files from your computer.

Restart your computer, download the full installer, and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  This is a direct download link:

http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

You can then register your Sims 4 code in Origin and download a fully updated version of the game, rather than installing via disc and waiting for Origin to update it.

I did everything as I said, I downloaded the Origin and when I ran it as an administrator this other error appeared. What can I do?

Thank you for your time.

When I went to uninstall the programs I saw that there was no Microsoft Visual C ++ 2015  (x86), I installed it and it already worked, just that program was missing.

Thank you so much for your help.
