"Unable to start: Initialization error at start up.  Error code [135dec40:29f00e76:00000084:a1dd51]  "

I am running windows 10 on a laptop with an Intel core i7. I have never had a single problem until Wednesday.

I have not added any new programs or security.

I got this code and searched for solutions in the forums. Ran CC cleaner. Nothing worked.

Finally saved my save files on OneDrive,

Uninstalled Sims 4 and Origin.

Reinstalled both.

Took the save files out of OneDrive and put them back in the correct documents folder, and it worked. (It took 3 hours - but it worked!) Game started and I was able to play! Standard smile

This morning, decided to play again only to get that same message! The game will not start again.

I'm pretty frustrated here!

I searched for a couple of hours and found this answer on another thread. I am posting it her to hopefully save my fellow Sim-ers some time!

''The instructions finally worked for me. For whatever reason when I did it the first time it did not add. The video below gives the same instructions and it works.

Go to Windows Defender Security Center
Click Virus and Threat Protection
Click Virus and Threat Protection setting
Click manage controlled folder access
Click allow an app through controlled folder access.
Add an app
Go to C:// Program Files (x86) > Origin Games > The Sims4 > Game > Bin and add TS4_x64

I added both TS4 and TS4_x64 just in case."

It worked! My firewall was blocking the game.
