I just re-bought the game out of frustration because that was the last thing I could think of doing to solve my issue. I bought the game a long time ago and still haven"t been able to play a single minute of it. I click play from Origin, play from the desk-top shortcut, play from files, and it always pops up with the same error message. I have tried uninstalling The Sims, I have uninstalled Origins, I have done both of those things at least 15 times. I have tried to repair the files, and nothing is working. If I was savvy with my computer I would screenshot the error message. I have a brand new Dell Desktop and would love to play the game for once. Someone please assist in how to fix the game, or at least teach me to get a copy of the error message?

@lalaitsreo Clear Origin's cache, restart your computer, and try repairing again. Before you try to launch the game, please also move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. You can put your content back later, but the first thing to do is get the game running.

If that doesn't help, update the driver for your graphics card. Go here:

Click Show all 39 Downloads, scroll to the bottom of the list, and download the Intel HD Graphics driver. Once you've run it, restart your computer, and test the game.

@lalaitsreo Please do post a copy of the error message. Hit Windows key-shift-S and drag your cursor over the section of screen you want to capture. You should have a notification that the screenshot was saved to the clipboard. Click on the image, then save it to your desktop or wherever you want.
When writing a reply, you can attach it by clicking on the Browse button next to the paper clip icon. The button is below the text field where you type and above the Preview and Submit buttons.
Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to your reply.

After a bit of a struggle and my silliness to decide not to follow the "double check" rule of the instructions, the first option you gave me as a solution worked!!! I am so grateful for your help. My wife will be thrilled and we will be entertained through these rough times of lock down. I truly appreciate your help!
