Door locks not working

Anyone having trouble with the door locking feature not working in Sims 4.   It doesn’t seem to save.

When do you notice they get reset?

With one of my families it doesn’t seem to work.  For example,   I’ll lock for specific Sims.  They can still get in but can’t get out.  Therefore, they won’t stay in their own area (the house is set up like an apartment).  Also whenever I change screens/restart/reload the game the doors are no longer locked.
