I have the sims 3 and multiple expansion/stuff packs on disk. Amy laptop just died and I have been looking for another, but can't find one with an optical drive that fits what I need and is in my price range. I was wondering if there would be any chance that I could get the games I have as a download on origin? I don't know if I'm able to, but any help would be appreciated.

if your game/s are registered you can get the digital versions instead
you need to download origin to your computer then once that's downloaded and installed you click on the origin shortcut -open then log in there with the email and password you used for the account
PC version https://www.origin.com/en-us/download
for Mac check caspinwalls post here (the 6th ) one in her post scroll to To download and install games through Origin which also has a link to the Mac version of origin to download and tips on how to download via origin if on a mac

and also please take note of the new layout in Origin for base game expansion/stuff packs

If you have many install discs you can get a usb dvd drive (~$40.00 usd). I bellieve if you install from disc the latest released to market pack needs to be in the drive if it was installed from disc. If you download the installer you don't need the disc.
