Digital Sims 3, Hard copy expansions

I bought a digital copy of The Sims 3 along with some expansions when they were on sale, and they work just fine. I recently got a hard copy of some expansions Katy Perry Sweet Treats, Ambitions, also Hidden Springs.

Trying to get the expansions on my computer and it's a no go. Says I don't have a copy of Sims 3. How do I fix this?

@ThinkPurple  The game installs differently for Steam. Installing DLC checks for the presence of the base game. At the very least you may need to use the Steam code and create an account in EA's Origin. You need to check with Steam for all requirements for DLC with Steam.

Yes, my digital copies were all purchased on Steam.

I ended up transferring all of my games to my origin account and got them that way.
