Coloring of objects

So I am trying to build a house and the color of the siding and stone and most any other wall coloring is yellow until I change it to afternoon or evening and then it is blue. I can't exactly choose the color for my house if I can't see what it looks like. Any suggestions? Am I completely doing something wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong.  When  you're in Build Mode, clicking on the icons of the wall textures will display the true colour of the texture.  Once you place it on a wall in game, it will be affected by lighting.  So in the Morning, there is a lot of strong yellow that will affect the true colour.  In Build Mode, at the top of the screen, there is an icon with a sun/moon on it.  Keep clicking on this until it is Afternoon.  I believe Afternoon has the best lighting to represent the true colour of the texture.
