Categories not updating

I've been having this ongoing problem, where I will get new content either via a patch or if I buy an expansion that different categories will have that orange-ish "new content" hue to them. I go to the category (let's say hair for this example) and i click on all of them to make the notification go away. I'll go out of that section to a different one, then when I click back to the original section, it still says I have new content even though I just clicked on everything to make it go away. It's driving me absolutely nuts
