Career progression issues - Sims 4

I've had my sims complete a career (culinary) to level ten and then do the same on another career (painter) but when I get my sim to go back into culinary so she can take the mixologist branch of the career, it won't let her be promoted at all no matter if I've met all the requirements and she's done the daily tasks and goes to work in the right mood.

Anyone know if there's a way around it? I don't want to be stuck at such a low level, unable to re-do a career!
