Cant install The sims 3

I have the Sims 3 and it worked fine on my old computer, but I just got a brand new computer with Windows 7 and now I can't install the Sims 3.

And what I mean by that is I put the disc in and nothing happens. Absolutely nothing. Nothing pops up, it shows up in my computer but that's it, but it doesn't seem like I have a disc inserted in my computer at all. So I'm at loss as to what I should do. I would really appreciate any help. Please and thank you

Does your disc drive read other discs?

You can always register your games on the Sims 3 website (perhaps you have already done that) and download / install the games from your Origin client.
