Cannot use items in inventory

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.62.67.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? I have all of them.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I'm not sure
What happens when the bug occurs? Items in the top row of my sims' inventory cannot be selected or interacted with. My sims are at university right now and are unable to do their homework or projects because I can't interact with anything in the top row of their inventory.
What do you expect to see? I expect to be able to use the items in my sims' inventory.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I'm not sure how this started, it did not do this the last time I played, my game should be up to date and I do not use any mods or cc

@dltoone Could you try repairing your game through Origin ?

Are there any other areas on the screen that you can't use ?
