Cannot Connect to EA servers Sims 4

★★ Novice

I downloaded and installed Sims 4, but any time I press "Play" or double-click the Sims 4 icon, it brings me to a screen that says "Error. We are unable to connect to EA servers to activate The Sims 4 Limited Edition on this computer using your account. Please try again later."

This may be caused by your host files having data preventing it from connecting to Origin. Check this article to find out how to reset it:

Moving on, try the following:

Windows 7
  1. Hold down the Windows key and press R. (This will open the Run dialogue.)
  2. Type cmd and press Enter. (This will open a command prompt.)
  3. Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
  4. Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
  5. Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
  6. Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
  7. Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
  8. Reboot the computer.

Also make sure that Origin and The Sims 4 are added to the white lists of both your antivirus and firewall.

If neither of these help, try the steps provided in this article:
