Can your sims own resturants you downloaded and added to your game?

I recently downloaded a resturant and added it to my game because i really loved it, but when i try to buy the resturant on my household it says sims can only own unoccupied lots, am i not able to own a resturant that had been added from here?

You could try deleting the restaurant from the lot, letting your Sim buy the lot and place the restaurant after.
