Can't move in a new Sim

Hey all, first time posting. 

One of my Sims is engaged, and I want to move her fiance in. As I have 8 Sims already, I have installed the correct mods and increased the maximum Household number to 16, however when I go to merge households and try and transfer the fiance into my household, it tells me my maximum is still 8. Is there something I'm missing, or is there another way of doing it?

For now, after today's patch, near 100% scripts mods are broken so you have to wait for a new updated version of this mod.
My suggestion is - move this sim with his fiancée to another home and create the next family.
After all, they will have children for sure and 12 sims in one house the game probably cannot stand. Despite the mod.
