Can't download sims 4

Origin says "preparing to download" and never starts downloading the game, then says that it has encountered a problem and shuts down completely. Help! I've been waiting for this game for a year.

that happened to be it wouldn't download (thedemo) but it fixed by me cleaning my computer and reinstalling orgin
