Hey!
So I've been struggling with this issue for close to a month now. I have Sims 2-4 + medieval on my laptop, everything runs fine. I tried to install them on my PC and Sims 2 & Sims 4 run fine; Sims 3 and medieval, not so much. Medieval says I don't own a valid EA license (this I've just given up on since I play it more on my laptop anyway). The Sims 3 I'd really like to run on my PC as it isn't very smooth on laptop.
So what is happening is that I hit play and it just refreshes Origin. It doesn't even try to start. I've tried running it from the Sims3W.exe file, no luck. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Sims 3 and Origin both, no luck. I've tried repairing the game as well. I've tried disabling Origin from running in-game. My PC actually has better specs than my laptop so I have no idea what's going on. The other thing is, I've had Sims 3 on this PC before but didn't reinstall it after I refreshed my PC.

@roselovejoy Please try manually installing DirectX 9, as described here:
If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
