Can i play sims 3 with expansions on both origin and disc form?

Can i play sims 3 with expansions on both origin and disc form? I wanted to buy the katy perry expansions but i worry they will not work or download if i purchase them via disc form

Any advice? Many thanks

@Thiccc_Eric  If you can register a pack you've bought on disc within Origin, you can download it through Origin instead of using the disc.  So if you've already registered your content or can do so now, and you buy a sealed copy of Katy Perry Sweet Treats, you should be fine.

The only problem comes from packs you own on disc that can't be registered in Origin, which should only happen if the codes have been used before.  That's why you want a sealed copy of any new pack: it's the only way to know the code hasn't been registered by a previous owner.
