Can I purchase EPs through Steam?

So Steam is selling Sims 3 expansion packs, with their summer sale for $5 which makes more sense than to pay $20 on Origin. Except I bought Sims 3 through Origin so would I be able to buy the EPs from Steam and play them or??

no steam versions only work with steam
