Bought an item on the store but I didn't get it

★★ Novice

So I've had the "Fowls and Feathers Chicken Coop" and the "Milkin' It Dairy Corral" in my shopping cart for a while now, and I bought some sims points today so I could finally buy them. When I clicked purchase, it got laggy and then it said "Be right back! Looks like our page is down... etc". I reloaded the page to see my sims points gone and the items still in my shopping cart. I loaded the launcher to see if they were on the que and they were not. This is making me really frustrated and I don't know what to do. Any help will be appreciated!

@TotallySimtastic  Try clearing your browser caches, including the one for Internet Explorer.  Even if you never use it, the store does for some purchases.  Be sure to uncheck the box to preserve data for favorites.

If the items don't show up in your purchase history after you've cleared the caches, try going directly to the product pages.  If you see a blue Download button, that means the item is free, or rather, the store acknowledges you've already paid for it, and you won't be charged again.  You can download this way as often as you like, whether your purchase history is working or not.

If you see a green button to buy rather than a blue one to download, you'll need to contact CA customer support to get your points back.  Use the category "report a payment error" or something to that effect; don't use anything relating to refunds, as the cs rep will think you're asking to be refunded the money you spent on the points.  You should be able to get your points back so you can buy the items again—a number of people have succeeded recently after getting double- or triple-charged.  If the first rep you talk to doesn't help, you can always leave the conversation and try later with someone else.  But you absolutely have a right to get your points back.

P.S.  The store offers deals for much of its content, including many premium items.  The deals are on the same permanent rotation, so you can predict when an item will be on sale, and for how much.  A few helpful players have put together a spreadsheet to track the sales, as well as a couple of threads that explain how to get the most content with your points.

You can always ask for advice on either of the threads; there are still a few active players who are happy to help you calculate Complete Your Set discounts and plan your purchases.
