All of my Sims 4 Saves, lots, and everything in the Gallery disappeared

Hello, 

I've been playing the Sims 4 for years. My brother got on my laptop to play his save and it was all gone. 

Everything I've uploaded/downloaded to the gallery, all my Sims, Saves, households, lots, all of it. Strangely, it seems as though all my mods are still there. 

I managed to find a folder of previous Saves, but when I put them into my current Sims 4 Saves folder does not read them.

This has happened multiple times now and I want a solid solution so I can write it down if it ever happens again, or at least know what I did wrong to avoid this happening again. So far I've just had to start over and I dont want to do that again  

I would really appreciate any help

@Lola38103  Please post a screenshot of your saves, as in, I'd like to see the files themselves.  Include the address bar, above the list of files, in the screenshot.

Please also let me know whether you use OneDrive.
