wont let me play sims 4 on mac

Hello I tried downloading sims 4 on to my mac because my laptop is super laggy and I wanted to see if it would work it said you can play sims 4 on mac but when it was done downloading it told me, "Only available on windows and mac". Although I am on a mac? Can someone help me?
