@Padmefan2017 Yes that's just a routine origin update, I don't think it has anything to do with the sims 3 but who knows really

OMG I got the same thing. In two hours so at 8pm MET. I hope this is something! I'll probably wait for another update from MaxisJoe and then see how that goes and then either wait or try to get the version from Support. The working one that everyone else gets.

hey guys! been on this thread since last night and on live chats with ea multiple times for an issue with a few of my packs not being able to download (this was alongside the global "install" issue) - heres my update!! 

just there *something* magical happened and both late night and design & high tech stuff started downloading (this was after uninstalling origin and then reinstalling both origin and sims 3 64 bit) and all of a sudden i no longer got the install error and could play !! i was sceptical but still wanted my other packs so i reinstalled all my additional packs and held my breath and pressed play - still no error !!! 

hoping for no crashes in future but exciting times !!

Wow! It works! I don't know if it's related to the EA patches etc. But! I asked support to activate the version and it works! My friend got The Sims 3 x64 autmatically. And maybe that's the problem.
