sims wont move

I have only recently tried playing the Sims 4 again since about January 2020. I have now purchased the Sims Pets expansion pack to go with it, and am able to load the game without any issues. However, when I open a household to play and select tasks for the Sims to do, they stay still and won't complete any of the tasks. This has occurred with every household on the game, Sims that came with the game and Sims I have created. Nothing I do seems to work. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Have you tried a new save?

At the main menu. Instead of pressing the Play button press New Game.

Yes I tried that and created a new sim but the same thing happened

Ok. Can I test your save to see if it happens in my game? Upload to a file sharing site like google drive or similar then PM me the link and tell me which household to test.
