sims 4 keeps shutting down every time i open it

so ever since the latest update which happened automatically my sims hasn't been working. when i go on create a sim it works fine but when i'm trying to actually play the game it doesn't work. the sims just closes. i have a mac and it comes up with the option to send the report to apple which i've done every time but still nothing. i deleted all CC went on to origin and clicked repair, i also did a factory reset and still nothing. heres the info about my mac:

MacOS mojave

version 10.14.2

mac book pro (mid 2012)

processor 2.5 GHz intel core i5

memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

graphics intel HD graphics 4000 1536 MB

not sure if i've missed anyting. i would really appreciate if someone could help as i love playing this game and i've spent so much money on expansion packs.

13" or 15" MacBook Pro?

Move your whole Sims 4 folder to the Desktop and then try a new, clean, vanilla game.
