sims 4 crashing on MAC

Hi there,

I recently purchased the sims 4 on origin for $80 AUS dollars, which I later found out was a rip-off. Everything was going perfectly until the last 3 days, my game will only play for 10 minutes or so and then crash! I don't think that this is because of my laptop as I never have any issues like this with any other games, I am rather ticked off about this and there is no way I can get my money back! I have no expansion packs or anything.

Does anyone know any ways to fix this? I tried to contact support on EA's chat, but even that was freezing? not happy at all.
