sims 3 wont launch

I am trying to start up my game for the first time since i just purchased and every time i do it says "there is a problem connecting to the server. please ensure that the internet is active. If the problem presists please try again later." I have tried again later multiple times and the wifi is connected to the best wifi in the house. My Mac was just updated to the most recent update and it is still not working. I have tried resetting my computer multiple times, and it still is not working. SOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@joelleanderson  The issue is on EA's end, with the server not recognizing the file that's supposed to validate your install.  Try this workaround:
