MacOS 10.13.6, I can download and install but then when it runs Sims 3 opens and then when you click to play it opens a 2nd screen and is frozen. I deleted and reinstalled 3 times same result each time. I am not a gamer this is for my son so please don't assume any knowledge, thanks for helping a newbie.

@NoahVancouver I've moved your post to the Sims 3 Mac section.
When you say the game is frozen, do you get any error message at all? If you see something about a problem in connecting to EA servers, please try this:
Otherwise, please start by doing a clean uninstall of Sims 3, removing all the hidden library files that don't get deleted during the normal uninstall process. Here's how:
https://bluebellflora.com/how-to-do-a-clean-uninstall-and-reinstall-on-a-mac/
Install the base game only, and run the Super Patch (digital download version) to manually patch the game to 1.67.

Launch the game again, and let me know whether it works. If you get the error about connecting to EA servers, try the workaround in the first link. If you get an unknown error, or some other kind of error (let me know what), please list the full specs of your Mac, as described here:

@NoahVancouver Did you try the rest of the workaround here?
Aside from running the Super Patch, you need to delete a file from inside the game's package contents and replace it with a slightly newer version of the same file.
P.S. Please edit or remove the screenshot of your specs—it's showing your serial number.

Thanks, okay removed specs much appreciated.
I tried each step that you mentioned. Uninstaller doesn't find the package so I drag and drop to trash then go into library and delete all sims 3 and gaming... ones.
I install the game only via Origin and then use the patch.
I separately tried Sims 4 and it says not enough memory and crashed.

@NoahVancouver Yes, your laptop doesn't have enough memory for Sims 4: the minimum requirement is 4 GB in macOS.
Are you still getting the server error, or an unknown error, with Sims 3?

thanks well sims 4 is now working but not 3, same computer.

@NoahVancouver Okay, but what happens when you try to play Sims 3? Do you get an unknown error? Do you get a server error? Does something else happen entirely?
