sims 3 island paradise not working

Hi, so I downloaded sims 3 island paradise everything worked fine, the launcher popped up cool, and then I clicked play.

nothing happened the launcher closed and it stopped the sims. 

I have a MacBook Air im not sure which year.

@iowmg  I've moved your post to the Sims 3 Mac forum.

Please download and run the Super Patch (digital download version), to make sure the game is fully patched.  This will also repair corrupt files, if you have any.  And it will undo any edits you've made to get your graphics card recognized, so if you've done that, please make copies of your edited files first.

Restart your computer, and don't open any apps—just go into Applications and launch Sims 3 from there.  Let me know whether it works.  If it doesn't, please post the full specs of your Mac, as described here:
