Game will not launch.
I have recently downloaded sims 3 late night expansion pack, I already have the seasons expansion pack. when downloading late night it will not now let me launch the entire game. I have spoken to two advisers telling me to 1. remove all files place in trash then empty- didn't work. 2. copy and paste entire game file that doesn't work, into the file that does work- didn't work. 3. install a new version of origin to replace the old- didn't work. and then finally 4. install a cleaner programme,, safe boot Mac, run cleaning on files- didn't work.
can anyone please help me with this?

@hann14051999 In your case, there are two fixes for this unknown error issue, and you may need to apply both. The first is simple: create an alias for the Late Night pack, if one does not already exist in your Applications folder, alongside the alias for the base game.

The second is to move a particular folder from Late Night into the folder for Seasons. It sounds like the game advisors told you to do this, but in case they weren't clear, or you undid the move, here is a video explaining precisely what to do:
Applying both of these solutions together should make your game run without any issues. But it's possible that one of the steps the advisors recommended actually did more harm than good, removing or rearranging some necessary file(s). It's also possible that the cleaner program did some damage, as these types of app are unreliable on macs. So if you follow the steps described above and still can't get TS3 going, it's probably best to do a clean uninstall and reinstall, then patch using the Super Patch, then complete these two steps again.

I moved your post to the Sims Mac board.

For reference only, and complete OT, but good Windows administrators will say exactly what you just said about the cleaning tools if someone uses them on Windows.
