"unknown error occurred" sims 3

I have had sims 3 for over a year now and have had no problems with playing it in the past. I have recently gotten a Mac laptop and downloaded origin, sims 3 and the expansion packs I had before. Everytime I go to push play a tab pops up saying "unknown error occurred". I have deleted everything and downloaded everything again but still is doing the same thing! how do I fix this??
