"Load Game" option gone, saves somehow deleted from Sims 4 folder (on Mac)

The game was working fine yesterday ago, but this morning when I went to play it restarted the game as if I had never played before and didn't show any of my saved games. I went to my saves folder and it was empty. Not sure how this happened because I've been playing it every day for about a week and it always loaded up fine. Is there any way to fix this without me having saves in my folder or are those games just gone for good?
