origin not running

tried to load up sims 4, and this error popped up

Unable to start:

Origin is currently not running. Please make sure that Origin is running before attempting to play The Sims™ 4

[d3382ced:984c6a38:00000000:00000000]

last time i played was a few days ago and i haven't made any changes since. maybe the sims delivery for that one base game hair but that's it. 

it's not a problem with origin itself i think, cause i just loaded up sims 3 with no problem. any solutions?

I have had this issue before and in my case it was origin also have seen a few solution's to this on other threads. If you haven't tried these already I would suggest to do a clean boot, here is a link with the steps to do so: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Don't follow EA's manual uninstall guide for Mac, it's not complete, You're better off running the Origin reset tool https://help.ea.com/en/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

Can you set up a new user account on your Mac and see if you can play in that account?

I have the same exact issue as you!! Which solution worked and did it save all your data or did you have to restart after you did it
