my sims 4 won't launch

i've had sims 4 on my computer for about a year. i had a HP laptop before and bought a mac a few months ago and it continued to work up until about a week ago very randomly. one day i was playing with no issues and the next it would not work. 

** i have no cc content** 

origin launches fine and i have reinstalled origin and redownloaded sims already and i click on sims to launch it and it just bounces in the dock for a minute then stays in the dock without launching. i have tried reinstalling everything and have repaired the game and do not understand why it won't work.

@ravennhuntee , try moving the entire Sims 4 folder (Documents > Electronic Arts > Sims 4) to your Desktop. Do NOT delete it as this is where all your saved games are stored. Next, start up the game to allow a new Sims 4 folder to generate. None of your saved games, CC or mods will be present. Start up a new game and try to play for an hour or so to see if any additional problems occur. 

If the game starts up ok and plays fine, then it is either some bad CC or an outdated mod that is causing the game to not start properly. You will need to go back to the creators of the mods and insure that the Mods are updated to run with the latest patch and download the newest version or manually cull your CC to determine which piece(s) are bad. There is not a program that runs on the Mac OS that checks for bad CC and you will manually have to add back a few pieces at a time, start up your game and insure that all is running correctly. In the meantime, you should be able to transfer your saved games from the Desktop back into the new Sims 4 folder in Documents.

i have done that already a while back and it still has not been working. i do not have any CC so that is out of question, no worry about that. Sims will still sit in the dock and origin will say it is open/running but it won't actually launch.

@ravennhuntee  Try running the Origin reset tool for macs, and then disabling Origin in-game.

After redownloding TS4, please make sure Origin in-game is still disabled, and that you've removed your existing game folder from Documents (again).

If none of this helps, please provide your mac's specs here, as described in the following post.  Please also list the packs you have installed.

redownloaded it (that was the second time i have tried) and still won't launch. my mac specifications are: 

version: MacOS Mojave 10.14.2

model: macbook air 13 inch (2017)

processor: 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

i am not running any antiviruses. 

i have NO CC 

my installed packs are:

- spooky stuff

- movie hangout stuff

- backyard stuff

- get together 

- seasons

- cats and dogs

- city living

The same thing is happening to me except I downloaded it today so I have never launched it and I don't have a folder

@scollingsworth  If you haven't already, please try disabling Origin in-game.  If that doesn't help, run the Origin reset tool (and disable Origin in-game again).

Working and then suddenly not working would indicate that either an OS or game update may be the cause, if you don’t have any CC/Mods. The game had an update on the 18th with a hot fix for a couple of issues released on the 20th. Mojave also had an update recently. Did you try the clean folder method?

You MUST disable Origin in-game. You could also try playing in a new user account on your Mac.
