my sims 4 keeps crashing

★★★★ Novice

Hello anyone,

My game keeps crashing every few minutes and I don't know why. I do have cc and mods but their are some mods I had a while back that I thought were safe. I don't know which mod is crashing my game or what to do. I need help because I'm desperate. If you understand this can you reach out and tell me what the problem is. I do have a MacBook Air.

Here is a copy of what the file last crash.txt said,

No I can't but if your game works without your CC/Mods then the problem is one or more piece of 3rd party content which is causing the crash. It is not your system that is the problem but the CC/Mods.

Move your CC back in in batches, loading the game after each batch to see if it still works. When it stops working you know there is dodgy CC in that last batch. Move out that batch and test each piece one by one until your game stops working again. It's laborious but the only way to check all your CC.

Using CC/Mods is at your own risk, EA are not responsible for making the game compatible with 3rd party content, the creator is.

If you move out your Mods folder does your game work?

Sorry I couldn't reply as quickly but I tried to find the problem as you suggested and I found sims 2 cc in one of the mod packs I downloaded. I took it out and everything was working fine. I separated every cc or mod to their specific category. I was able to play but I noticed my game got a little glitchy when I went to one of the shirts and then it crashed again. I have 2 possible reasons that could be, that being the Gorilla X3 shirt because it would start glitching when I went to that shirt or some of the packages I got from youtubers for female cc. I did search it up and the lastcrash. txt is useless and mostly says unreadable nonsense. Do you think that this could be the reason? Is downloading cc packages from youtube maybe the reason to why my game is so messed up? What is the use of the cachewebkit folder and why is there always weird looking picture of sims or houses in the sims?

Thank you, for being so helpful by the way.

@crinrict's site here has a great article about cache files - https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2014/09/delete-cache-files/

There are some great CC creators and there are some sloppy CC creators, just make sure you remove the stuff causing issues for optimal game performance Standard smile
