my game crashes after initial start up (Mac)

Since yesterday, my sims 4 game crashes during it's initial startup. I've recently downloaded new cc's and mods, so I took them out, but that did not solve the issue. I've also tried taking the whole mods folder entirely, although the game did run quicker, it still crashed. I've  tried reinstalling the game/origin itself, however the problem still continued. I don't know if I have a bad cc or mod, or if this just a technical issue with the game. I should also mention that it will either crash during the sims 4 opening screen, or being to load then crash. Sometime's it even lets me into the game itself, but it's very slow and laggy. 

I've restarted and updated my computer throughout all of this as well.

Moving out the Mods folder is not enough, you need to also trash the localthumbcache.package file too.

Would you be willing to share your save file with me so I can test it?

Maybe the whole saves folder? Do you have a lot of saves?

I deleted and re-downloaded my sims 4 folder, so now I have no saves at all.

There was not much on it really, I thought deleting everything would rid the issue
