missing base game worlds and no sim on create a sim

Hi, when I load a game I cant see the base game worlds or any of the families in them, I can't even see the families that I have in cats and dogs they've just disappeared. When I go to manage households it says 'No results found' but the sim count is still 8/80. When I go to create a new game I can't because no sim shows up when I enter CAS.

DO you use CC/Mods? If so move out your Mods folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file and reload the game.
