@Pixellarious

Please run the Origin reset tool, disable Origin in-game then try again.

Re: macOS Sierra/High Sierra - Sims 3 and Sims 4

★★ Novice

I have a Macbook Air (13-inch, mid-2012), 1.8 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3   RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB graphics

I have upgraded from a previous version of macOS, quite an old version I believe I can't remember it though.

I have the Sims 4

When I go to Origin everything seems fine up until the point where i try to play the Sims 4. At first it takes awhile to load but when it does it only takes me to a black screen for like a few seconds and then the black screen disappears and all I can see is my desktop and all the things I left open before playing the Sims. It also says that I'm still using the Sims 4 but after a few seconds the game says that the "application is not responding" and so I force quit the game. And everything seems normal again.

@aWeSomEmE348

Can you please disable Origin in-game and see if that helps.

Sims 4

Ever since I have updated my mac to High Sierra 10.13.4 Sims 4 hasn't worked. Whenever I try to open it from any place on my computer,  (Launchpad, Applications in Finder, or Origin) it just loads for a second on my desktop, changes to a black screen then crashes. I have tried many things as I could think of, reinstalling both Origin and the Sims 4, taking out my mods and Tray folder and letting the game create a new one. I have been playing the Sims 4 since Christmas last year, and it has worked fine up until now. I do play with mods and custom content but, like I said I took out my mods folder and the game still would not load. If anyone knows how to fix this problem I would greatly appreciate it!

Mac Specs,

-Version High Sierra 10.13.4

-MacBook Pro: (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)

-Processor: 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7

-Memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3

-Graphics: Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Thank You!

How does one disable Origin in-game if I can't even get to the main home screen / main menu?

Re: macOS Mojave - Sims 3 and Sims 4

[ Edited ]

10.14 Mojave

Sims 3

Game is loading and playable but a warning dialogue box comes up the first time it is loaded stating that it will not run in future versions of macOS. This is because Apple are dropping support for 32-bit apps in a future update to the OS:

Sims 4

Game is loading and playable. Unfortunately it is also coming up with a warning dialogue box. It is unclear what this is related to as Sims 4 is 64-bit. Apple have also announced they will be dropping support for OpenGL in favour of Metal which may cause issues.

11/07/18 Update:

Sims 3 and Sims 4 still working after the 3rd dev beta has been released. Still getting error messages for both games although they are now more exact.

Re: macOS Sierra - Sims 3 and Sims 4

★ Guide

You are using an unsupported BETA version of MAC...you should know that it will not work till september. Downgrade or wait.
