★★ Guide

@Bluebellflora I apologize, I didn’t mean to imply that it was the only item causing the problem. It just happens to be the only item in my game. However, I thought that as people were fixing items in their games, it might be helpful to have one less item to fix.

@RouenSims

It's ok but don't be surprised if the link is taken down. I don't think links to certain sites are allowed, Patreon being one of them because it's a pay site.

Oh good heavens, I really wanted to be helpful to others who were struggling with the same issue I was, but it seems I’ve really botched it! I’ll delete the post.

@RouenSims

Oh don't worry! We have instructions in the thread on how to fix it using S4S. It was kind of you to make that piece available though Standard smile

Graphic Issues on Big Sur

★★★ Novice

Hey guys,

I have a problem which concerns the graphics quality of the game.

Recently I updated my 15" MacBook Pro (Late 2013) to macOS Big Sur and i've got some graphics issues in The Sims 4.

I play with CC, maybe the CC is the problem 🤷🏼‍♂️.

The shadow is a black flickering square and the reflections on objects look very weird.

I attached some pics for reference.

Is it the same for you? Or is it just my game?

Greetings,
Marian

@maad0306

It's an issue with the CC - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/graphics-issue-with-any-reflective-shiny-surface/td-p...

If you have more pictures it would be great to post them in that thread Standard smile

For the black square you can disable the SSAO in the GraphicsRules.sgr file - https://bluebellflora.com/2019/11/15/boxy-shadows-under-sim-since-1-58-patch/

Hey, thank you for your suggestions.

I attached my Graphics Settings and Mac specs.

The reflection problem is from one CC Set, from littledica. I will try to download it again, maybe it's fixed.

@maad0306

Merged into the CC thread I linked to previously. Other users have posted about that fridge too.

This is the same for me. A house I was building has no CC in it and these dots are on EA Windows, EA TVS, Some EA computers, wallpapers, stairs, doors, and floors. I've tried everything you have as well. This is an issue that is happening to me in 2021 with OS Big Sur. I have no idea what going on. This has only been happening the past two weeks and I am at a loss of what to do.
