Hello,
At the moment only a PC version of The Sims 4, via Origin, has been announced. This will not be compatible with Mac. The only way to possibly play The Sims 4 on a Mac is to setup Bootcamp or a Parallels desktop with a full license of Windows 7 or 8 (however this is yet to be confirmed).
If you have any more questions about a potential Mac version of The Sims 4, please post here:
I hope this helps and keep simming,
Cody

I just want to post this to let everyone know....I bought a new iMac computer, and was informed that indeed it would run the Sims 4. Now, EA has decided to only release the PC version of the Sims 4. I just waited on hold for 30 minutes to chat with a specialist through EA, who informed me that they do not as of yet have plans for a Mac release, told me to post here so that EA is "aware of my concerns", and gave me a 15% discount code to reslove the issue... I will be now battling with the store I gought the Mac from to trade for a PC, but all of you Mac users, this is what I have been told. When a game developer releases a game, and decides they are not going to release to Mac users, that serves about half of their subscribers! I hope that they read this, and do something about it. I did not spend 1200$ on a new computer to only be able to find out I cannot play my favorite game from the original Sims 1 on! I will continue posting as I was told to do, and hopefully EA will change their minds, if you are a Mac user who loves the Sims, please do the same so that they will see this problem!

You could consider installing windows/bootcamp.
The info that the game won't be for mac has been out for at least half a year so I don't know who told you it will be on mac.
Good Luck

I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
