University is installed

★★★ Newbie

I have just purchased, downloaded, and installed the University Life expansion pack however when I open Sims 4 in Origin the expansion does not appear within the game.

I have a MacBook Pro 2011 and the necessary specs to run this expansion according to Origin. What is this issue?

If your MacBook Pro is a 2011 model it will not run Discover University because it does not support Metal. The system requirements clearly state that Metal is required. You should be able to get a refund from EA through Customer Support. However, you make no mention of running the Legacy Edition of the game which would also be required on your Mac. Please do post your specs though so I can double check your Mac. Instructions on how to do so and what to provide here - http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting/m-p/4612...

Are you both 100% sure your Macs are Metal compatible? You need to be running macOS 10.11 El Capitan or later to play DU.

Have you tried repairing the game?

can you upgrade to Mohave on your Mac? If so. back up all of your saves and upgrade your OS.

Then try logging back in to origin -- complete any updates. and then you should (fingers crossed) be golden!!

If you can't upgrade your OS to Mohave. You'll be stuck with the Legacy Edition.

Re: I can’t access the community library

@kyolany

Do you mean your Library? Or the online Gallery?

If you mean the online Gallery then you won't be able to because it is no longer accessible through the Legacy Edition.
