TS3 64 Bit: Question for Clarification

★★ Apprentice

I bought the 64 bit version of TS3 the day it came out on October 28th and I haven't launched it on my laptop yet due to the reported problems from others. I noticed i didn't have a CD key and I already know it won't work at all if it doesn't have it. As far as I know there is suppose to be a fix for it, but the recent patch from Nov. 9th has me confused.

Is the patch from Nov. 9th the 'fix' or is it one piece of it? If it is the 'fix' I still don't have my CD key.

@ig607  You'll need to tell EA customer support that you need the 64-bit entitlement for Sims 3 added to your account.  Specifically, this is what MaxisJoe suggested people say:

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/the-sims-3-64-bit-amp-metal-release/m-p/9661511#M1150...

And here's clarification of why the message sometimes doesn't register with the support rep:

EA Staff

Where are you looking to check for a CDKey? All players should now have one.

The CDKey issue does not/did not require that you download or install any new software. If is an issue that we were able to fix within Origin.

I looked under 'game properties' on the 64 bit

Re: TS3 64 Bit: Question for Clarification

@ig607  That's where the CD key should be.  Try running the Origin reset tool for macOS, to see if maybe the issue is stale data:

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/how-to-reset-origin-on-mac/

If that doesn't help, you'd need to contact EA customer support to ask that someone fix the issue for you.

https://help.ea.com/en/technical-issues/

It would be better though to at least install the base game and confirm it doesn't work, so you can tell the support rep exactly what's going on with your game.

@puzzlezaddict I've tired to launch it and it came up with the 'Installation Verification Failure' message. Then I reset origin and it didn't work. So now what do I exactly tell EA customer support so I can have it fixed?
