I have been playing the Sims 4 for several months without any issues on my Mac. I know that my laptop can handle the game, but suddenly last week the game stopped working properly for no reason. I can get the game to launch (after lengthy loading screens), but it lags so badly that it is not playable. I have done all of the general suggestions such as lowering all the graphics settings, playing in windowed mode, but nothing works. I have no mods on my game and 100 GB of storage left on my laptop.
UPDATE: I moved my Sims 4 folder to try and see if the game would work normally with a new game and it did! How can I pinpoint what is causing the issue on my old save files? I would hate to lose everything.
