I’m not sure, sorry! It’s just on my laptop drive.

Thanks. It's not installed on an external drive? If Origin keeps verifying the files it means something has possibly changed in the installation location.
Please open Terminal and copy and paste the following command then hit Enter/Return:
find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null
After a little while it will return the results of the search. Please copy and paste the results in a post here.

No external drive. The only thing I've done recently is install the latest patches + HSY. Here's what Terminal returned:
Last login: Thu Aug 4 14:57:42 on console Lisas-MacBook-Pro-2:~ lisapower$ find ~ -type d -name "*The Sims 4*" 2>/dev/null /Users/lisapower/iCloud Drive (Archive) - 1/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 /Users/lisapower/Applications/The Sims 4 Packs /Users/lisapower/Applications/The Sims 4.app /Users/lisapower/Applications/The Sims 4.app/Contents/Resources/The Sims 4.app /Users/lisapower/Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 Lisas-MacBook-Pro-2:~ lisapower$

Thanks, that all looks fine. What happens if you load the game by double clicking the game icon in your Applications folder? It is in your user account Applications folder, not the system Applications folder. Does it load or does it just load Origin and then verify again?
Try this:
Move your Sims 4 folder out to the desktop - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-Mac/READ-FIRST-Sims-4-Mac-Help-Guides-and-Troubleshooting...
Then open Origin and repair the game again. Then load the game and play for a while, it will be like you've never played because all your saves will be in the folder you moved. After a while playing a new clean gam, quit the game, restart your Mac then open Origin and see if it still wants to verify.
